Muhurta is a unit of time measurement. Muhurta is a Sanskrit word derived from two other words-Muhu and Rta. Muhu means immediate or a moment, and Rta refers to an order. In RigVeda, Rta implies the yearly order of the different seasons. In modern Nepali, the word is called auspicious time to Take Action. By starting work at a convenient time, you can achieve the desired results. Every important job we start requires us to take care of Muhurta. If you start work at an inconvenient time, you will get a fault and the work will fail. It doesn't finish on time, there are problems along the way, it costs a lot of money but the job doesn't get done, and people even die from accidents and injuries. Types of Muhurtas:
Before delving into the meaning of muhurta in puja, it is important to look at the different muhurtas in one day. They include:
1. Choghadiya Muhurta - A good auspicious time to start a new job.
2. Brahma Muhurta - An hour and a half before sunrise. According to Ayurveda, there are three doshas in our body. They are vata (air and ether), pitta (fire and water), and kapha (earth and water). Within 24 hours, these doshas have varying periods of dominance. Doing meditation or yoga with Brahma Muhurta is very beneficial.
3. Abhijit Muhurat - Best time to invest and hold meetings. If you undertake these tasks during Abhijit Muhurat, the results will be positive.
4. Rahu Kaal - An inconvenient time and not suitable for doing business. Devotees refrain from performing sacred acts and pujas during Rahu Kar. However, it's okay to continue tasks already completed by Rahu Kaal.
5. Shubh Hora - Refers to the auspicious timing of the day. Perfect for prayers, memorial services, weddings, etc. A wedding is a new beginning, so people choose Shub Muhurtas before doing it.
